Tool #11 Questions and answer

1. What are your favorite tools you now have in your personal technology toolbox? Briefly describe a particular activity that you will plan for your students using at least one of these new tools.

I will plan to use the apps as an extention to my lessons. I know the students will really enjoy learning from technology. Technology will help enhance there learning.

I didn't realize that we had the ablilty to create a live document and have your co-workers add or remove things from it, without sending it back and forth through email attachments.

Tool #11

I would teach my students digital citizenship basically the same way I teach it in my real classroom. I would explain our TRIBE rules and we would discuss how we would apply them to our online uses. We would also discuss how to communicate properly online. I would just do a lot of modeling of what is right and what is wrong usage.

Tool #10

1. Some of the free apps that I viewed were henhouse, math race, and making tens. These apps would be great to use for ordering numbers, math facts, and making tens on a ten frame.

2.
I love how easy it is to get the apps and that there is a lot to choose from. It is such a privilege to have math game on the itouches. I can just see my studnets focused on what they think is playing, but what they are actually doing is learning!

3. Discuss ways your students could use the iTouch or iPad and appropriate apps in your class.

My students could use the itouches in a station. There could be games and activities on there based on what we are learning to help expand their knowlege. The itouches can also be used as a great motivator for some of our students.

I really like the screencasting! This would be a wonderful way to have my student share their ideas with other students acroos the grade levels, other schools in our district or even the world. I also think that we can use this in our conferences with parents or other teachers.

The first video is a "magic School Bus" video on the parts of a plant which I can use in science. The 2nd video is a counting video to help my ELL learners learn the numbers in English.

Tool #7

I really enjoyed using photostory. It's a great way to share photos! I would use photo story in my classroom by getting my students to reach some pictures of an animal or a topic that they are working on. They can write text and then present their photostory to the class.
